Chris received his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Virginia, Charlottesville, in 1970 and his Juris Doctor from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 1977, where he served as Editor-in-Chief of the South Carolina Law Review and was a member of the Order of Wig & Robe Honor Society.
Chris began his legal career in 1977 with a large law firm in Charlotte, where he acquired extensive legal skills in the areas of business and commercial litigation, general civil litigation, matrimonial and family law and civil appeals. Since founding Troy & Watson, P.A., Chris continues to counsel both individual and corporate clients with the same level of legal expertise.
The primary focus of Chris' practice is matrimonial and family law with an emphasis on equitable distribution (division of property) and civil litigation including commercial transactions, real estate and construction litigation, contract disputes and employment law. Chris also handles personal injury cases and is highly qualified in the area of civil appeals. He is an experienced trial lawyer and a Certified Family Financial and Equitable Distribution Mediator. He is a member of the North Carolina State Bar, Mecklenburg County Bar and the North Carolina State Bar Family Law Section.
Chris was commissioned as an officer in the United States Navy and retired with the rank of Captain.
