Amy received her Bachelor of Science from Indiana University, Bloomington in 1983 and her Juris Doctor from the University of Kentucky College of Law in 1986.  She served as a law clerk for the Kentucky Court of Appeals and in 1988 joined a Charlotte law firm where she practiced law with her current partner, Chris Troy, in the areas of matrimonial and family law, general civil litigation and civil appeals.

Amy is experienced in handling cases involving child custody and visitation, emergency custody, child support, alimony and equitable distribution (property division).  She also works together with Chris Troy handling business litigation cases and civil appeals.  She is a member of the North Carolina State Bar, Mecklenburg County Bar and the North Carolina State Bar Family Law Section.

Amy is also an accomplished athlete.  She is a member of the 1980 Olympic Platform Diving Team, NCAA Champion, one meter springboard, Big Ten Champion, one and three meter springboard, six-time All-American, and National and World Age Group Champion, platform and three meter springboard.
